The process to become a board approved licensed therapist takes years to complete!
Mollis is in her final year of her graduate program and is completing the 600+ hour clinical practicum requirement that focuses on diagnostic, prevention, and treatment services.
Upon graduation, Mollis will apply for approval by the state board to engage in supervised clinical experience toward the 3,000 hours that are required for her to be eligible to take the board exam. In the meantime, Mollis is closely supervised by independently licensed therapists.
Hello! I’m Mollis and I’m in the final stages of completing my master’s degree in Counseling at George Mason University.
As a new mother in 2003, I was surprised and overwhelmed that motherhood wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be. Society, media, and even family members convinced me that motherhood was supposed to be natural and fulfilling, but it was hard. This sparked my passion to support new moms, and over the last 15 years I have been helping new mothers either formally as a postpartum doula or informally as a friend.
I have a wide range of life experiences from being a married stay-at-home mom to a divorced working mom. I understand the multitude of challenges women face and my goal is to be supportive in a non-judgmental and empathetic space.
