Let’s Tackle Anxiety Together

A little bit of fear or worry helps us feel safe.  For instance, if you feel unsafe in a specific situation then your fear releases adrenaline to keep you safe. Although worrying is uncomfortable, it’s also a natural and healthy emotion.  However, fear or worry that’s too intense has the potential to weigh us down and negatively impact the ability for us to enjoy our pregnancy or the time period after bringing baby home!

Participating in group therapy has been proven to effectively treat anxiety experienced by pregnant and postpartum mothers.

You’ll have an opportunity to meet and listen to other women experiencing similar feelings and situations.  You’ll receive support from others who also understand what you’re going through.  The group facilitator will teach practical strategies that you can use immediately.  You will feel less alone.

Our 6-week skills-based group will teach you strategies to overcome anxiety during and/or after pregnancy in a supportive environment.

What will you do?

  • Challenge and change negative thinking patterns
  • Practice mindfulness techniques
  • Develop self-advocacy skills
  • Use social skills to interact with others
  • Learn how to manage uncomfortable situations

Attendees must reside in Virginia, Maryland, or Washington, DC.

When and Where Are The Workshops?

Although group therapy is most effective when attended in-person, we appreciate the ever-changing landscape of COVID-19 and have decided to make our therapy group available online.

Please feel free to join us online every week.  You will be provided with the link following your registration.

How Many People Attend?

The workshop is capped at a maximum of 8 women (plus the facilitator).

How Much Does It Cost?

Health insurance usually covers the costs of skills-based groups.  Therefore, you will only be responsible for your deductible and/or copay.  If you choose to forgo your health insurance, then the fee is $40.00 per week.
